Compliance consulting industry veterans, Ron Weekes, Bobby Johal and Andy Welch launch Blueprint GRC to support clients with governance, risk and compliance challenges.

London – Blueprint GRC Limited (“Blueprint”), a provider of governance, risk and compliance support for alternative investment managers, advisers and asset management clients, today announced its entry into the UK GRC consulting space.

Ron Weekes, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Blueprint GRC, commented: “It’s exciting to join my fellow founders and former colleagues, Bobby Johal and Andy Welch to launch Blueprint GRC.  The launch of this new consultancy and resource management provider represents a new generation of GRC support built around addressing client pain-points with practical and efficient, results-driven solutions, temporary staff resources at all levels, and industry leading technical advice.”

About the founders:

Prior to founding Blueprint, from May 2010 to March 2023, Ron Weekes was the founder and European CEO of the ACA Group, a major global provider of GRC support. Ron started ACA in London, building the European business from a standing start to an important and multi-million-pound EBITDA division of the ACA Group.

Before ACA, 2003-2010, Ron was founding CEO of the wholesale compliance consultancy, Complyport Ltd; as well as separately launching one of the first regulatory host providers in London. Prior to consulting, Ron worked at the UK regulator authorising and supervising firms in the alternative and traditional fund management sectors.  Blueprint now presents an opportunity for Ron to share best practice from a career of over 35 years in the finance and GRC advisory space.

Blueprint founder and Managing Director, Andy Welch has spent over 18 years in the compliance consulting industry and joins Blueprint after his recent role as Managing Director and Co-Head of the European Compliance Advisory Division at ACA Group, where he co-managed a significant team of front-line compliance consultants and personally supported a large book of private markets, hedge fund and asset management clients.   His role at ACA was preceded by a director role at SS&C, the global leading fund services and administration business, and before that in another ACA role and a compliance consulting position at Complyport Limited, working alongside Ron Weekes.

Andy commented: “Our team of subject-matter experts, experienced practitioners, former compliance officers and ex-regulators create a fresh approach to GRC consulting and will be focussed on the practical aspects of GRC support. Our fully supported and flexible GRC staff resourcing model and team development programme will provide clients with the right skills and resources, at the right time.”

Blueprint founder and Managing Director, Bobby Johal is a financial services professional of over 20 years, focused on governance, risk and compliance. His career in financial services advisory includes tenure at the UK financial services regulator and spans the breadth of alternative and mainstream investment management sectors in the UK, including private markets, hedge fund, and asset management.  Bobby is an industry-recognised technician, with a depth of expertise and experience across highly challenging regulatory matters relevant to wholesale clients.

Prior to Blueprint, Bobby was a Managing Director and, alongside Andy Welch, the Co-Head of ACA’s European Compliance Advisory Division supervising a large team of consultants whilst also supporting a portfolio of multi-strategy clients.

Prior to ACA (and legacy organisations acquired by the ACA Group), Bobby was a compliance officer and member of the central compliance team at Bear Stearns International. Before that, Bobby spent approximately five years at the Financial Services Authority.

Bobby commented: “We recognise clients have a choice of service provider but now more than at any time before, need to evidence value for the budget they assign to GRC support. Professional support needs to provide high quality results efficiently and effectively. Our team’s combined experience and client-first approach seeks to address many of the frustrations often associated with obtaining GRC support.”
